April in Parma

Spring! at the Botanic Garden

In Colorno "Nel Segno del Giglio" gardening fair April 26-28 in the castle's park.
Cinema: The original ones every Tuesday until June 4.
English Reading Club at Biblioteca Internazionale, April 24.
Groupe de lecture en français, le 23 avril.
Spring Party at the Eco Baby Bar (Parco Ducale) on April 14 (10 am-6 pm).

Festival Minimondi (book festival), April 13-28.
Theater:  EuropaTeatri (children 11+), Corte di Giarola (Collecchio), Europa teatri (children 3+).
Biblioteca Internazionale, workshop on April 6. Date tba, meeting of the Moms Club for kids aged 0-6 and their moms.
Children's Corner at Casa della Musica: April 7, 14. Classical music for children aged 6+.

Parma Color Viola
Monterosso Val d'Arda Wine Festival, April 20-21. Located in and near Castell Arquato - a beautiful village a little more than halfway between Parma & Piacenza (site in English).
Vivicittà on April 7: a competitive run (12 km) and a non competitive walk (4 km).
'Giardini aperti' offers the opportunity to visit private gardens, usually closed to the public.Programme tba.

New:
In Casalmaggiore (20-ish kms), an exhibition dedicated to jewels made of Venitian glass beads, from Africa to America.

Ongoing:
Opening March 23 at Fondazione Magnani Rocca: "Il Surrealismo di Paul Delvaux" until June 30.
"Italian style 1900-1930" in Colorno until June 15.
"Storie della prima Parma" at the Archeological Museum (Pilotta), the origins of Parma seen through the latest findings from Etruscan and Roman times.
Costumes and stage sets at Teatro Regio until 31st May.

Until April 1, paintings by Picasso will be visible in Reggio Emilia. These works belong to the Barilla private collection and are usually not visible to the public.

In Milan an exhibition dedicated to the famous French photographer Robert Doisneau opening Feb. 20, until May 5.
Meanwhile in Bologna an exhibition dedicated to the famous Italian photographer Nino Migliori until April 28.
